How to Participate in China Market


1. Modes of Access

Mode 1: As an overseas customer, directly participate in transactions through a member of a domestic futures company
Mode 2: As an overseas client, entrust members of domestic futures companies or overseas special brokerage participants to participate in transactions through an overseas intermediary agency
Mode 3: As a foreign special brokerage participant, overseas institutions accept the entrustment of overseas clients to participate in transactions (direct market entry, settlement and delivery are entrusted to futures company members)
Mode 4: As overseas special non-broker participants, foreign institutions participate in transactions (direct entry transactions, settlement and delivery are entrusted to futures company members)

2. Suitability requirement

Exchange Shanghai International Energy Exchange (INE)
Products Crude oil futures
Available funds requirements The available fund balance of the margin account must not be less than RMB 100,000 or equivalent foreign currency for 5 consecutive trading days before applying for trading code or trading authority;
  1. Legal person participants: For those involved in crude oil futures trading, the balance of available funds in the aforementioned margin account shall not be less than RMB 1 million or equivalent foreign currency
  2. Individual participants: For those involved in crude oil futures trading, the available fund balance of the aforementioned margin account shall not be less than RMB 500,000 or equivalent foreign currency
Knowledge test requirements Log in to the examination platform of the China Futures Industry Association to conduct an online test of the suitability of a specific product trader. The total score of the knowledge test is 100 points, and 80 points are qualified.
Trading experience
  1. Simulated trading experience: accumulated no less than 10 trading days, a total of more than 20 (including 20) simulated transaction records, or
  2. Domestic/overseas transaction experience: transaction records of more than 10 (including 10) futures, options or other derivatives transactions with centralized clearing within three years

Available funds requirements After daily settlement in the 5 trading days before applying for transaction code or opening transaction authority, the balance of available funds in the margin account of the account opening institution shall not be less than RMB 100,000 or equivalent foreign currency
Knowledge test requirements Log in to the examination platform of the China Futures Industry Association to conduct an online test for the suitability of a specific product trader. The total score of the knowledge test is 100, and 80 is qualified.
Trading experience There are real transaction records of futures or options on domestic/overseas trading venues in the last three years.
